Through an application process, I was selected in April of 2019 to be one of two Homecoming Campus Decorations Liaisons for my sorority, Kappa Delta – Epsilon Iota. I worked over the summer and for the first 8 weeks of the Fall '19 semester to design and produce our campus decorations for Mizzou’s 108th homecoming, held on October 12, 2019.
This job entailed managing a committee of 40 people with various skill levels, communicating to our chapter of 256 members, working with a co-liaison, communicating with the liaisons and members of our fraternity pairing, communicating with the 2019 Steering Committee and managing a budget of $3500. I also worked hands-on, by tracing, painting and building our house decorations, which in the end were 16 feet tall, 40 feet wide and 12 feet deep. For the six weeks leading up to homecoming I worked approximately 50 hours a week to create our final product.
